Around 12 noon near the boat house/boat dock area there will be a celebration, naming and maiden voyage of the two 29’ big canoes that NC Friends of State Parks have purchased for NC State Parks.  These canoes that each seat 14 paddlers are ideally suited for group activities and youth group activities where teamwork, exercise and environmental education come together.  Many NC State Parks with major water resources will utilize the canoes at planned events from April through October with specially trained staff.

Friends of Morrow Mt State Park hope you will attend this important event.  Many paddlers will be needed for the canoes initial voyage.  NC State Park officials and leadership of NC Friends of State Parks will be at both events.
